Hotlinking

Postby thadmin » Thu Jan 25, 2007 12:18 pm

From this point forward Bandwidth Theft / Hotlinking to image files on the Internet will result in an automatic deletion of the images and the account holder who posted them.

What is hotlinking?

Bandwidth theft or "hotlinking" is direct linking to a web site's files (images, video, etc.). An example would be using an <img> tag to display a JPEG image you found on someone else's web page so it will appear on your own site, eBay auction listing, weblog, forum message post, etc.

This is theft. It has been in our rules since day one, which you all agree to by participating here.

Bottom line, hotlink to someone else's images - you are gone - no warnings, no first offences.

You may of course post links to the images or to any respectable site in your posts and you may display images IF they are on your own server.
