Ironclad

Ironclad (2010) : In 13th century a determined group of Knights Templar defends Rochester Castle against the tyrannical King John.

It is the year 1215 and the rebel barons of England have forced their despised King John to put his royal seal to the Magna Carta, a noble, seminal document that upheld the rights of free-men. Yet within months of pledging himself to the great charter, the King reneged on his word and assembled a mercenary army on the south coast of England with the intention of bringing the barons and the country back under his tyrannical rule. Barring his way stood the mighty Rochester castle, a place that would become the symbol of the rebel's momentous struggle for justice and freedom.

The leading Templar personality will be played by the lad who played the "Black Prince" Edward in A Knight's Tale, Sir George in Dragon Sword on SciFi, and Marc Antony in the ROME series.
Romans 13:4 - For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

James Purefoy. Personally speaking, i feel it's pity, I would have liked to see Ray Stevenson in the role. he played Tuitus Pullo in Rome and he'd look the part in Templar armour.

Having said that, James Purefoy is a fine actor and will do justice to the part.

It would also appear that the young blonde headed lad who played the hero in Narnia is to be in this movie as well.

Thanks for your information! I'm really curious about "Ironclad" - especially Vladimir Kulich as "Tiberius" (powerful viking leader "Buliwyf", impressing in "The 13th Warrior") will guarantee an adventure. Hope that the weather situation in Wales let not leave the film shooting out in the rain. I hope it will be run in German cinema soon ;-) . . .

G'day All ! I visited the home page for this movie & there are some great actors in the cast. E.G. Sir Alick Guinnis, Robert Carlyle, Colm Meany etc etc. Incidently James Purfoy also played an excellent role as Lord Spears in the "Sharpe's Sword" Celtic TV episode of the Sharpe series featuring Sean Bean. According to the site they are trying to present the Siege as close to reality as possable & there are 7 Templars featured in the main roles.
