About Rosslyn Chapel

The Collegiate Church of St. Matthew or Rosslyn Chapel (as it is more popularly known) was built in the mid-15th century by the First Earl of Caithness, William Sinclair (St. Clair). The chapel and neighbouring castle are located in the village of Roslin, Midlothian, Scotland.

Despite numerous books making the claim that the Templars had a hand in building the chapel, the fact remains that construction began a century and a half after the Templars were arrested and dissolved as a Military Order.

The mythological connection between Rosslyn, the Freemasons and the Knights Templar have been well documented in Robert Cooper's book The Rosslyn Hoax?
