Templar Carving At Rosslyn Chapel
This carving, found at Rosslyn Chapel appears to depict two riders on a single horse - an image used on the Templar seal. As such, the carving has been used by many authors to prove a Templar connection to the Scottish Chapel.
However, if the second figure is actually on the horse, it is riding in a peculiar manner. But then logic has never stood in the way of a good speculative theory.
The reality of the matter is that the second figue is standing behind the knight on the horse. What is being passed off as the second rider's leg is actually the tail of the horse. |
